Texas Health Hospital Mansfield has completed its neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and obstetric emergency department (OBED) projects, marking a milestone in an ongoing campus expansion focused on women’s health and maternity care.
The projects include a NICU designed for Level III capabilities, with a minimum of 11 beds in addition to two private rooms and a dedicated OBED for evaluating and caring for patients experiencing pregnancy-related emergencies. The separate parent and bonding room includes a queen bed and full bathroom. All are part of the hospital’s broader investment in supporting mothers, newborns and families close to home.
“Every family deserves to feel supported and confident in the care they receive,” said Eulanie Lashley, President and CEO of Texas Health Hospital Mansfield. “Completing these projects is an exciting milestone as we continue to grow alongside our community. We are investing in the spaces and services that support mothers, babies and families today while preparing to meet our community’s needs for years to come.”
The full inpatient Women’s Services expansion encompasses 44,000 square feet, with plans that include 10 labor, delivery and recovery suites and 24 postpartum rooms, in addition to the NICU and dedicated OBED.
The broader campus expansion also includes a 19,500-square-foot outpatient Women’s Health Center, scheduled to open in November in the professional building on campus. The center will feature 32 exam rooms, imaging and laboratory testing, pelvic floor and massage therapy, OB/GYN and midwife offices, and shared office suites for specialized care. These services, available for adolescents through later stages in life, will expand access to personalized care close to home, supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum recovery and other stages of life.
Personalized care remains central to the hospital’s maternity services. Through its team of OB/GYNs and certified nurse-midwives, Texas Health Hospital Mansfield supports patients in making informed choices about their birth experience, with care grounded in safety, expertise and compassion. Patients are encouraged to share their preferences and work with their care team to develop an individualized birth plan.
